Where am I at 8pm... sitting in front of the TV

I love the Olympics. I get such a thrill in rooting on my fellow countrymen as they compete against all the other athletes. I have been keeping up pretty well with things thus far. When the Winter Olympics was in Salt Lake City, I was attending school there. They gave us a week off to help out and volunteer...but instead, I went home to CA for a visit. Looking back on it now, I sort of wish I had volunteered. One of the things that I like about the Olympics is that most of the athletes are not making a killing off of their sport. They sacrafice alot to compete and don't really get much out of it except the glory of being in the Olympic games. I guess, if they win gold then there are sponsorship deals...but you can't help but think that most of them work at Home Depot when it's not the Olympics (well, Home Depot says that they do in their commercial anyway- which could be a lie... I mean I work in advertising so I know that companies like to lie to you). I mean when I was younger, I got involved in gymnastics for a little while. My coach was Tracy Talavera.... she was gymnast who competed in the same Olympics as Mary Lou Retton. Her specialty was the Beam. She didn't win any metals, actually maybe she won a bronze or a team medal... but that's the point, she was coaching ME- and believe me, I was NO good at gymnastics. I was too scared of breaking my neck and not really very flexible. Plus the bars give you the worst blisters ever! Okay, I guess I don't really have a point except to say that I love the Olympics.

Yay! I can finally leave you comments. So I can tell you first hand that volunteering for the Olympics was an experience. I loved it but I think I would only do it again for the Summer Olympics. Winter is just too cold!
