Sloppy kisses, sloppy drunk

Adding to my repetiore of crazy things that happen to me is the following:
Tuesday night after work I had an appointment with one of my sales reps. This is one of the perks of the job. My sales rep from Shape Magazine (who I really love) took me for a makeover at Trish McEvoy in Bloomingdales and then out for dinner at David & Burke. Delightful. After that, I went up to my friend Carlee's house for a little fun and games. She had decided that she needed a new facebook photo, so I was going up to play photog. Anyway- it was a hilarious night filled with all sorts of camera fun.

So what is the weirdness that happened that night, you might ask?

Well, I left Carlee's house around midnight and began my trek home. Normally this involves getting on the 2nd Ave bus and taking it 20 or so blocks...but there was construction and the bus wasn't coming so I ended up walking about half-way...which was fine. It just meant I was getting home even later (but I have been having sleep issues lately anyway so it's not like it was going to cut into precious sleep time). On a side note, there was the OLDEST, BONIEST woman I have ever seen on my life on the bus. She was truly frightening... definitely looked like a walking skeleton. I feel bad because there might have been something medical wrong with her...but wow- scary!

So back to the point of the story (can you see why this blog is entitled the RAMBLINGS of Preppy :-) )... I was about a block away from my house and was walking past this fairly crowded bar. I noticed in one of the windows a man in his mid to late 30s, in a suit...banging on the window trying to get my attention. Being the cool, collected New Yorker that I have become- I completely ignored this man and continued on my merry way. My merry way ended up not being that far because the light was red and I had to wait to cross the street. While I was waiting there- I was acosted. The man who had been trying to get my attention RAN out of the bar, grabbed me by the shoulders and PLANTED a kiss on me... then skipped out into the street (and traffic) giggling. SO BIZARRE. I was mostly just shocked. It's the most action I've gotten in awhile.

It reminded me of the time in college when me and my friends were at a concert and some guy ran up to my friend and kissed her and then took off. What's wrong with people?!!

Mostly this experience was just bizarre... I wasn't really scared by it- I mostly was just glad that the guy wasn't trying to stab me or something, I guess.

Hi Christine, you crack me up! Glad to see that all is going well in the great NYC, unexpected smooches and all. I enjoy your ramblings, very well written. (found your blog through Lachelle's)

This story made me laugh again! And I'm glad I made it in your blog as being the victim of that random concert kiss. :)
